The slate plaque I made for my nephew and his wifes new home.

We warmed the house...
The housewarming get-together at Shawn & Faith's new home was a complete success! We really had a wonderful time, and I believe everyone who was there did too. It even stopped raining right before we arrived, and it held off all day until everyone was about to leave. I wish my son and his girlfriend would have come, as alot of people asked where they were, and they would have had a super time. But anyway, the plaque I made for them was a huge hit. They loved it it pieces, and Faith told me that she has the perfect spot to hang it in already. It made me feel so good to see them smile when they opened it! I knew it was perfect for their home, at that moment. *sigh of relief!* We got the grand tour almost as soon as we walked in, as Shawn was anxious to show off his new "castle", and as well he should as the place is just beautiful. Not over the top, stuffy beautiful, but simple, clean, young -couple -decorated- it- in- a Crate and Barrel/ Pier One/ Urban type of way. There is alot of taupes and cream, light hardwood floors, white carpet (*yikes!!*), cherry wood in the livingroom and formal diningroom with burgundy leather sofa and loveseat. In the kitchen, light wood cabinets, black granite counter tops (fingerprint HELL people!), black appliances, you get the picture. (I have photos to show, but they're not downloaded yet.) But like I said, very comfortable. Nice. I give them props as they basically re-did the whole place from top to bottom......themselves, and a couple of relatives. I was dripping sweat as they described the things they did. Damn. Too much work for my ass. If I look for another house, and my first thought after seeing it it'"Well, if we re-do the whole fuckin' thing it will be lovely", guess what, we're moving along to look at the next one in line. No shit. But hey, they're young, so goodie for them for having the energy, and obviously the $cashola$ to get 'er done, eh? Oh, and while we were just a gabbing away, my brother-in- law informs us that he and the wife are going to Aruba in October. Oh goodie.

The food was good too. Can't forget to mention the edibles. We had all kinds of tasty dips and salads to munch on all afternoon and grilled chicken, burgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob for dinner. Yummy indeed! Did I mention that Shawn, bless his young never ever made a textbook mixed drink in his life but I didn't know, made me one of the grossest tasting drinks I've ever had in my life? I drank it like a good Aunt of course, and as time passed I didn't even notice. I think it was orange vodka, triple sec and friggin' Coke. COKE. I swear I saw this kid mix everything with Coke. After the fact. This shit I was drinking should have been mixed with Sprite, 7 Up, Ginger Ale. Not friggin' Coke. I survived, and caught a nice buzz, so all was not lost. We headed home around 7, had a nice ride home and enjoyed watching Kill Bill on DVD. By this time my awsome orange and coke buzz was gone, damn it.

Bliss in a craft store....
Who the hell knew that I could have such a blast in a friggin' craft store? I ventured up to the Mall today, on a quest for items to make my nephew and his wife a housewarming gift for this weekend. Brilliant idea, I thought, untill I relized that making something was gonna be a pain in the ass, as it always is, and I should just pick up a pretty wreath for the door and be done with it. Hell no. I live for torture, so to the craft store I went. Well, from the moment I walked in, I was in deep shit because the prices were great, and I wanted everything in the damn store. Candles that smelled terriffic, silk flowers everywhere, every isle had a different craft that I just wanted to try.....just for a minute. I flipped out, because I didn't know there was so much damn stuff for scrapbooking! Hot damn thar stuff is awsome. It would take me 5 years and mega cashola to scrapbook all of our photographs. Anyhoo, I spent too much time, and a tad bit too much cash in there today, but it was fun, and I did get the items I needed for my project. Now lets hope I don't screw the damn thing up. I'll post a photo of the plaque when it's finished, in case anyone's interested in seeing it!

Not too shabby, eh?
If you're ever having one of those days where you're feeling a tad bit, well for lack of a better word....ugly, check out Awful Plastic Surgery. Breeze around that site for a bit, and suddenly the stuff on the front of your head, called your face, don't look so damn bad anymore. Get happy at a celebrities expense. It doesn't get any better than this!

Nighttime ramblings
I was just sitting here thinking about how much I love the night. The quiet stillness as everything around me sleeps. My mind, too, is peaceful, as it is not filled to the brim with daytime thoughts like bills, work, (or lack of), errands, chatter, phones, chaos. Deadlines, time-frames daytime pressure things. At night the air is clear, filled with chirping crickets, an occasional airplane gliding quietly overhead, my keyboard keys muffled clicking, an occasional car driving by. This is good stuff.

To list or not to list....
I'm debating as to whether to compile one of those 100 thing about me lists or not. I tend to find them fascinating, and you do learn a lot about a person from one of those lists. I worry that there might not be 100 things about me. What if I only have like, 48 and I run out. I'll be bummed out for the rest of the day.

I love Avon delivery day!
My Avon order gets delivered today, and for me it's almost as good as Christmas morning, except that I never ever get make-up or cologne for the holidays. So this is better in that regard. I ordered more make-up, and yes I am more than willing to admit that I'm a fragrance, make-up, skin care junkie. I just can't seem to get enuff, no matter how much I have, I need more damn it. Whoa.

In other Avon related news, seems they are coming out with a catalog/magazine for men. Well it's about friggin' time! Hell, I've been telling my district manager for the longest time, that they don't have enough products aimed at the guys. More and more men are taking care of their skin, and buying colognes and grooming stuff. I can't wait to see what we're going to be offering. I just hope it's not dorky.

At a loss for words....me?
I talked briefly with my best friend today, and she tearfully informed me that her exassholesonofabitchinmuthafreakinjackoffofahusband is making her sell the house. I can't believe that someone can be so cold hearted as he is. Bastard. Anyway, when she told me the news, my mouth just hung open and nuthin' came out. Nada. I didn't know what to say. For the first time in my life I just didn't know what to say. Finally I said, "I'm so sorry", and that really sounded dumb. I feel helpless and I don't like the feeling. I wish I could go and smack the son-of-a-bitch onto another planet. I believe it's Mars?

Pickins are slim
I was just clicking along looking at different Blogs, and I gotta tell ya, good reads are far and few. It took me forever to find one that was semi interesting to me. Lets take a brief tour of what I encountered along my journey.....many spanish blogs, many teenage angst blogs, too many blogs with annimated scrolly things on them, too many blogs that use wing-dings or fuckin' weird symbols *shakes-head*, very large type, or micro mini type, and sometimes just blogs that make no sense whatsoever. Now I'm not braggin' about my little literary wanna-be corner of the world in here, but damn, this shit is pure entertainment compared to alot of the stuff that out there. Take a look. It aint pretty.

Want my other ass back
I'm trying this herbal stuff to lose a few pounds, and so far I really like it alot. It's called Cortisol, (it's similar to Cortaslim), But a hella lot cheaper! I was worried that it wouldn't get along with the meds I take daily, but so far so good....no side effects that I can feel. It has given me energy, yet at the same time I feel calm, not jittery, and it took away my appitite. Yippee....maybe I will get back the ass I loved!

I wonder....
Ya know, as I was gazing at those two beautiful buses in the WalMart parking lot, I couldn't help but wonder..."Who the hell is in there"? Are they famous or just stinking rich? I really would like to know. And I would love to check out the interiors on those things. I should have just knocked on the door, huh? In my dreams.

Creepy House
When I was out walking today, I came across this creepy house located on a street full of pristine, beautiful homes. It is still stuck in my mind, as I just can't stop thinking about it. When I go out tonight, I'll get a photo of it, and you can tell me what you think. I just hope a picture can capture the true strangeness of this place. I got a scary vibe just standing in the front yard looking at it. Like the house was telling me that something bad went on there. I personally have never had that feeling looking at a house before.

I know, I know
I haven't been here in like what seems like forever, but it's only been awhile. I'm like that, but you should know that, now shouldn't you? So anyway, we're gonna do a bit of catch-up, so I recommend you hold on tight, as this might get ugly. Kidding.
